DO NOT GET IT WITH CRAZY CAMERAS!!!!  There have been hundreds of dissatisfied customers.  Me being one of them. See how dodgy they look after reading this AVForum thread.  It took me to cancelling my credit card before they perked up.  They may be legit, but it's hard to tell from all the crap I read about them.  They seem to be top of searches, unfortunately.

I re-ordered the Canon from Jessops online and it only cost an extra £15.  Speaking of which... The camera is lovely.  My daughter went for that camera for it's looks, but also the added advantage of manual modes, which are good for someone learning the basics of ISO settings and shutter speeds.  The depth of field on the lens isn't enough to really make a difference, though.  The main thing that bugs me about the Canon is the flash stays out, even when not needed.  I'm dreading her dropping it on that particular corner.

If it was up to me (which it wasn't) I would have bought her the Lumix.  Zoom works in video mode, which it doesn't on the Canon.

The same goes for Simply Electronics. I tried to buy a flashgun from them, after two weeks the item still hadn't been dispatched despite showing as 'in stock' on their website. Their customer service is appalling and I tried to cancel my order and get a refund (they charge your credit card despite not dispatching the item). The refund to my card took 12 weeks!!!! after numerous calls and emails sent to them chasing it up.
