tmo Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Remember going to see Tony Pond and Rob Arthur at the HQ on Douglas sea front (right round the far end of the bay) doing a chat about tony’s lap round the TT course mad as a sack of bagers !!! top bloke Had a world of pain just getting to the event, the chief marshals assistant (still remember his name Ian Pilley ) hadn’t booked our vehicles on the ferry, had to hire a Nissan van on the island and nick the kitchen bench seats out of the cottages we stayed in !! First year I went with the Chris Birkbeck crew, next year I went as a marshall. We arranged all our own ferry tickets etc. the late great Mark Lovell was in his Cosworth against Jimmy Mcrae I was done for speeding overtaking Phil Colins in his Mr Tomkinson Cosworth, I was late for stage closing and was supposed to be marshaling in the middle of a night stage Quote
