Stuart Posted July 18, 2002 Posted July 18, 2002 Dunc, Battery tray - there should be three M6 rivnuts in the left hand side of the chassis just behind the wishbone mountings. Bonnet catches (I presume that you mean the locks at the rear of the bonnet) - positioning of these is fairly critical; get it wrong and your bonnet won't fit properly. The best way is to get Westfield to send you their paper templates. I'm sure they would do it by fax if you asked nicely (but make sure the faxed copy is the right size). HTH Quote
JimNoble Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 I didn't use the fibreglass battery tray - it stops you front using the brackets for the brake pipes (they go through the bodywork instead). Instead, I bought the aluminium battery tray from westfield and mounted it on the scuttle instead. This only works if you have the flat fronted scuttle (and not the old sculpted scuttle that they used to supply with Speedsport kits) though. As for the bonnet locks - as Stuart says, get the template from Westfield. Email at jim@black-metallic.com and I'll forward the faxed copy I have. d1unc Posted July 22, 2002 Author Posted July 22, 2002 Cheers guys. I eventually got to talk to Mark at westfield (10 calls later) and... They forgot fit the M6 rivnuts in the left side of the chassis for the battery tray and they recommend I buy a rivnut tool or rivit the tray in place. Rivnut tool approach sounds better. I still can't see how it fits without being modified but Westfield are going to send some pics on how it should fit - should be interesting Mark also promised to fax me the templates for the bonnet locks last Friday and I'm still waiting.
