Hi all,

It's my first post, so be gentle!  :D I am looking at getting some race seats after seeing them on a friends car. Do Westfield do anything specific and any idea of cost!? I must admit I LOVE the C******m R500 ones - would love them after some rebranding!

Also, my car is currently lacking a Diff and I am in need of any advice! (Unfortunately I admit to being a total luddite when it comes to all things technical, but man, do I love driving!;). The car is a 93 SEi.

Cheers, and thanks in advance

Yes, westfield do race-seats in either covered or uncovered fibreglass, they are about £200 each or something.... VERY comfy, too.

Second that, i got the uncovered fibre glass seats, top seats :)the misses wants the sport seats with the padding, wonder how heavy they are???

I was wondering about the racing seats, my westie has the padded sports seats which is standard issue on a westie and I find that the top of the windscreen is in the way a bit.

Do the racing seats drop you down in the car enough to sort the line of sight out? And are they adjustable, as I need to make it look like it is possible for the wife to drive it I suppose

and don't forget Plays Kool who do some very tasty GRP and/or carbonfibre seats for a very good price - see the links page.....  :D

Westfield sports seat can be made to be adjustable by the addition of runners, if they had any adjustable runners in stock.......they were out yesterday.........They are plenty confortable enough, having completed several round trips to Cornwall and Le Mans in them. By contrast, the seats that you can see in the green car are nowhere near as comfortable, so I'm looking at alternatives.........

They aren't that heavy either, but I have never weighed one. See if there are any weights in the technical section of the Fluke Motorsport web site

The  PLays-Kool seats are very good value, and could be made to be adjustable the same way as the factory seats. Paul at Plays-Kool will be able to advise you on their seats.

I've just fitted a Plays Kool seat and its the dogs danglies  ;)  :p  :D  :)

Care required with the plays kool ones, the fella there says he can't fit into one of his grp ones - he's 5'11 and fourteen stone.

I wouldn't stand a chance.

I'm 6ft 1in and very full bodied as Peterg said (thanks pal) and find the seat very comfy - The Big Fish has also acquired one - actually I've been trying to find a sports seat for a while and PKM's were the only ones I found would fit an be comfy -  ;)  :D  :)  :)

The original query was for an SEi and I seriously doubt that the Westfield sports seats would fit in there.  The Tillets that the c******m SLR's use does but it's very tight (this is what I have).  Runners are not really an option so make sure if you go for them that you spec them with the fixed seat brackets.  The Plays-Kool seats come in two sizes:  A narrow that I don't fit in at all and a Standard which I do and is very comfy and supportive.  I suspect either would fit in an SEi.

Does anyone have any photos of the Plays-Kool carbon or fibreglass race seats or have any further south than Yorkshire? Considering buying a pair as they look comfy, fit in an SEi and are spot on on price as usual.

I would just like to get a closer look at them without having to travel to Batley for the honour! LOL
