V 8 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Coming to the start of our first winter living full time in our fifth wheel, we are starting to suffer the dreaded condensation. Can anyone recommend a dehumidifier that would be efficient and quiet, and what price range should we be looking at Quote
Asterix Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Borrowed this from a friend Tommo. Don't think it's enough for our bungalow but have been impressed by the unit, it's quiet and reliable. In my bungalow, it's doing about 2.5l per day. Good luck m8, tell us the outcome. Quote
Rob Navin Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Tommo dont bother with one just drive it somewhere nice and warm for the winter ! Quote
KerryS Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Tommo - could've talked about this the other weekend. We keep a dehumidifier in the caravan that is on a timer, and comes on for about 2 hours each morning. As caravans have to be ventilated, as in bl**dy draughty, it basically sucks moisture out of the outside air so fills up regularly. It's an Ebac Amazon. It was the cheapest one we could find that would work off a timer, several won't. Quote

green-light-on Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Like i said the last time this was asked Focus diy store £19 mine stays in the motor home all winter with an oil fille radiator no damp or condensation ,(lived on a narrow boat for four years no condensation and no need for a dehumidifier if you have the correct ventilation )or like some of the others say go somwhere warm Quote

Got it on now, see how we go. Thanks for all help and advice. JT Quote

dstorey Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I've been using a dehumidifier too and storing the water it collects to use as coolant topup or screen washer water. (I live in a hard water area and so it stops the white chalk/ scale build up...) Quote
