nikpro Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 After some recomendations on Media Blasting set-ups. Believe that aqua blasting is best for cleaning degreasing aluminium/cast parts. (Cylinder heads will be the largest parts considered.) I also understand that they use a hell of a lot of air to feed them! Have been told these are good and more efficient than running a compressor: tZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item414ab3f1e9" target="_blank">Bead Blasting has anyone any other reccomendations for equipment/set-up costs? smegablade Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I have one of these http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop....ir-hose Got it from one of the shows along with a bucket of grit. Then built my own cabinet from scrap MDF a pair of rubber gloves from ebay and a perspex window. Total outlay of about £50. Only downside was that my 25ltr compressor wasn't really up to the job as I kept having to wait for it to catch up. So It gave me a good excuse to buy a mother of a compressor. All in all it does a pretty good job and I've been pleased with the results Quote
