JamesD Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 Sorry to be posting about 13" wheels and tyres again..But..I can't find the answer in the archives! I want to run 13" alloys with 185/60/13 tyres. I have spoken to Westfield but they were a bit sketchy when I asked what the correct offset required on a SEiW with fixed rear arches. The answer they gave me was ET38, this conclusion was based on 14" alloy sizes. 13's seem standard fitment on bike engined cars but they all appear to have detachable arches. Is there anyone out there running this setup, I would be grateful for the info as I dont want to spend my hard earned, and then have an issue with fitment. Cheers JD Quote
Blatman Posted June 25, 2002 Posted June 25, 2002 Get the smallest (largest??) offset you can , ie ET35, and use spacers to get the look/track width/clearance right. Getting too large (small??) an offset will see you with few options to alter things. Spacers can be made to any size.............FWIW, the green car runs with spacers which are about 25mm deep, and I have no problems or concerns with wheel stud length (they are longer though), wheel bearing wear, or fouling of anything. They are 15" rims though. My sprint car (a narrow bodied, disc brake all round, car) runs ET21 offset, with 205-60-13's on the rear, and 185-60-13's on the front. I have no fitment worries apart from wanting slightly longer wheel studs. If I'd known about the offset/spacer info above, I'd have done just that, rather than getting the ET21's, which leave me little room for "tweaking". Quote
