I'm in the same boat - The Boss says I can go this year.   :D

I've been quite a lot in the past, but not since kids arrived  :(

Portsmouth - Caen ferry is my favourite at about £210 return for 2 people.

Dover-Calais is about £80 I think.

Eurostar about £115.

Race ticket is 65 euro for the weekend.

Circuit camp sites fill up very quickly, but you may still be able to get some through agents / Piston Heads / other clubs ? eg :  1st-tickets

There are plenty of other campsites within a short drive that will have space. Some will also have shuttle busses back and forth to the circuit.

Beer : no, tea-total me

..I only drink so that I have enough bottles to make the compulsary bottle sculpture !

Food : proably more than you think. Euro exchange rate + circuit prices =  have to drink cheap beer instead.

Anybody else going ?

I am planning on going. It'll be my 10th trip or thereabouts.

Camp site availability depends on when you plan on arriving. I always arrive Wednesday afternoon and have never had a problem getting pitched up in Beausejoir camp site, which is right by the Porsche Curves. There is a free shuttle from the gate to the circuit. Arriving after about late evening Thursday means you *might* struggle... maybe...

Funds? I usually blow about 400 quid all in. Thats ferry, fuel, food and a hotel on the Normandy coast on Sunday night so I don't have to drive like a t**t after the race to catch a ferry ;) Obviously without the hotel the price is reduced, and my crossing is under a hundred quid 'cos I book early. And I don't drink much either. If you're planning on having beer every night and "eating out" rather than cooking or barbecuing, then I reckon you'll be looking at about 300-400 quid per person if you split the trip 50/50 with your oppo...

Already booked for next year :D our 2009 breakdown of costs for 2 people were:

Travel = £260 (ferry,tolls, fuel and parking)

Hotel 120euros per room per night = £607 (4 nights - inc Table d' Hote meals and wine for 2 nights)

Other resturant meals = £165 ( £82 each).

Circuit entry and Grandstand opposite pits = £156

Beer and drink not included in the above :D

Because we've booked so far in advance this year we've managed to get the ferry for £30 each way :) (dover to calais).  I took the Westfield this year and had no trouble getting it on and off the boat and then it's a nice easy drive from there down through Rouen on the French Roads.

EDIT to add: we use Just Tickets for our parking and stand tickets and normally go in the Expo car park which is about 5 minutes walk from the main gate.  They still look to have plenty of tickets at the moment.

I Live in leeds & I won't be going this year( doing another mad euro tour with the band of brothers) but for the 8 days we normally go for; travelling from Hull to Zebrugge and back. Drive down thro' Belgium and France, 4 nights hotel ,4 nights camping general entry, fuel (1000 miles) wine & trough etc circa £800
