Richard Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Could someone please tell me why when I am viewing Youtube footage on here it intermittently freezes with a 'circle of dots' for a few seconds every 15 - 20 secs or so . Its very frustrating.... Thanks R Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 it's your internet connection I would assume might also be worth running "spybot" as you may have some crap on your pc Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Try downloading Google Chrome, you'll fine that this is faster than IE and FireFox (not sure what the security is like, so I wouldn't use it for bank stuff) This might help, but it sounds like slow connection on your broadband or something like that Quote
SparkyB Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 As mentioned if you are seeing this then the video playback is getting ahead of the buffered data. The shaded section of the bar shows how much has been buffered ready to watch. I find that with a slower connection it is worth leaving the video paused for a while to get ahead so that you don't suffer the constant stopping/starting. Quote
RedditchJay Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 The other option if your connection is slow is to select the video you want to watch, pause it and wait a min or so, allows it to start to download Quote
abbeya Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I had the same issue a few weeks ago, traced it to the wireless router, even though the computer I was on was ethernet wired. Ended up scrapping the router and buying a new one - since then no issues. Befor the new router the internet explorer was 'hanging' so tried Google chrome, then firefox, the latter was the best. Also to add, I had the same problem 6 months ago, Im with BT and phoned up and complained and said I was going to leave, they gave me the new Black BT Home Hub free of change. My motto is, Complain and say you're going to leave......... always works. Also, just had a new Sky HD box for free as well, not from BT, I hasten to add Quote
