Hi just joined the wscc. Went to start my car today, it has a 2.0L zetec fuel injection engine. I think I have an airlock in the fuel system. I have fuel up to the fuel rail, I have taken the plugs out which are  firing but they are not wet. I would be grateful if anyone could help me. Many thanks, DE04

Have you got the fuel rail plumbed the correct way round?

The regulator should be downstream of the inlet to the fuel rail (ie after the injectors)

Is the regulator set to the correct pressure?

Is the pump running on cranking does it prime when the ignition is turned on?

If it's the correct way round take an injector out and crank the engine over to see if the injector is spraying, if not it could be electrical (relay/earth or feed issue)

Is this a new build?

Has it ever run previously?

If so what jobs did jou do immediatly to it not running.

What ECU do you have?

Unlikely to be an airlock as the fuel system is effectivly self bleeding.

Chaz.

check the fuel pump is running you should here it wizzing around when you switch the ignition on .

if none check 12v to the pump , the fuse may have popped

check the plug to the ECU this can work loose and give the symptoms

good luck
