Caterham 6-speed gearbox

Due to a recent upgrade to an Elite sequential, my trusty Caterham 6-speed box is for sale.  Standard type 9 fitting, alloy case, takes standard propshaft, long input shaft.  Ratios are 2.69/2.01/1.59/1.32/1.13/1.00.

With a 3.62 diff and 7,500 limit for example, this will give around 50mph in 1st and 135mph top end with typical tyre sizes.

I used this with a Caterham supplied 30mm spacer between the box and bellhousing which effectively gives it a short input shaft.  Combined with moving the engine back 50mm, this improves the weight distribution and means you can dispense with the usual gearlever extension.

Refreshed by Caterham specialists Road and Race in Kent in late February this year at a cost of £316.  Comes with a free custom transit case in plywood and gearlever with Quaiffe knob:D

Also available a matching propshaft.  This is a standard Westfield prop for an independent (Sierra) diff to type-9, but shortened as I moved my engine back in the chassis.

And, finally an alloy mount for a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder, Burtons type (APC6B) for Sierra 5-speed.

Gearbox £1,200

Propshaft £75

Clutch mount £25

All plus post.
