I ran one for 2 years when thy 1st came out, put 60000k miles on it, hammered it everywhere and it never missed a beat

My brother has one and the only problem he has had was the fuel gauge died.

Thrashed every day.

I had the 1.9D in 2004 for 4yrs and now IM on to the Renault Traffic Sport 115bhp. Great vans, I carry around 3/4 ton of tools constantly, still see 110mph and 35MPG. Even tows westie 100+ aand see 30+mpg.

Superb vans, great to drive and pretty bomb proof. Only went for the renault as it was 3K less than the VX

Renault Traffic = Vauxhall Vivaro = Nissan Primastar as far as I'm aware.

All the same van, same engines, built in shared factories. Nissan build the Vauxhall & Primastar side by side in Barcelona. Think the same is true of the Vivaro and Traffic in Luton.

At least, I think so!

Had a Vivaro for 8 yrs had some electrical probs early on (new ecu, window motor) all done under warranty, otherwise good van.

Bought 57plate Renault Trafic earlier this year, superior drive over old van (newer spec engine less powerful but more economical).

I've known some other owners who've had gearbox problems but hey, you take yer chances.

Thanks all didn't go for the Vauxhall in the end it was a swb and only measured 2.1 meter in the back. Ended up with a Nissan Primastar se, lwb, 100 bhp, on a 56 plate, 38k miles for £6,100 + vat
