Send a pm to RocketRon734. He sold his car to them but I know he had some problems along the way. Thanks for that. Will get in touch with him. This is not desperate, have been having a bit of sport with them over about 9 months now, just happened to be reading a paper at work today and they actualy list Westfield as a make they buy. Not my experience with them. Quote

Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 as carpetstu said, i sold my car to them. had a bit of hastle getting a price. got quite a good price in the end though just need to keep hastling them. Thanks for the reply, My experience is almost the same as Speedy jon. Back in Jan. after being annoyed by their awful adverts I decided to get a quote, not really decided on selling the car just sitting in front of the computer bored I guess. Well back comes the quote for about £900 more than I would have accepted from a cash buyer, had a good laugh thought what a load of b*ll*x and forgot about it. Aug comes along and after receiving a few emails from them I get another quote,a bit less but still £400 ahead of a cash price so thinking this is just too good to be true and being egged on by SHMBO I make an appointment at Cambridge. Get a confirmation email with the quoted price and instructions about the documents to bring with me. A few days later another email again confirming the time and date. Now starting to think this may happen and again thinking do I really want to sell and if I do will I get paid !!. Morning of the appointment, lift back arranged get the car out of the garage and leave it warming up on the drive, come in the house to get my coat and notice a message on the answering machine.its from Webuyanycar.com to say they cannot buy the car that day as it is a specialist vehicle.ring them back and say I will come over anyway, its a sunny day and we will have a ride out.Not what the man was expecting at all. Arrived at their site and booked in,sat and waited 20 mins. then Mr. Smooth arrived and said he was running late and would be with me after he had dealt with another customer, pointed out that he was late and not me so the other customer could wait. I then made him come and look at the car to verify its condition etc. and asked him to explain the quotes and promises to buy. He then started to talk in riddles. It seems that the cars are valued by computer and the buyers dont actualy know what they are untill the day of the appointment. In my case not untill 45 mins.before the appointment. He did not go as far as to tell me the Moon is made of green cheese but I think he would have done if he thought he could get rid of me quicker. We left it that he would phone or email me the next day with a firm price. That was on the 28/08.still waiting to hear from them. All in all I found the whole episode most amusing and had dismissed it as an amusing episode and a day out in the car, that is untill Sat. At work on my own, shift work, bored copy of Frid.Daily Star on the table decided to see if any nice pitures in it (landscapes of course)opened it and found a half page advert for Webuyanycar.com.listing the makes of car they buy and what is the last name on the list??. You guessed WESTFIELD. Came home banged the details in to the computer and recieved an offer to buy the car, although less still a good price. It also encourages me to act quickly in case the price goes down. Got to say I am tempted to make another appointment at a different depot just to see what happens. Quote
