Darren B Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I have to run list 1B for the races I do (Kumho V70s in Medium compound). I have a V8 with 3.62 LSD off an R380 box, so probably not much comparison. Quote
conibear Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 A15 and A91 should be fine for cutting up as wets. Front splitter and cycle wings is a good modification, but consider (although you not mention) vented cycle wings are NOT allowed for closed wheel kit car racing. Flat floor and rear diffuser seems to work, but I would not bother with the other stuff. If you want the ultimate, get your engine on the button all the time, so let it rev at max power/torque Have you considered MSVR, CSCC and SEMSEC Quote
chrischild Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 I have spent the last two seasons doing Midland Hillclimb Championship and parts of F1 Leaders and want to have a go at circuits, and I live 20 mins from Castle Coombe, so I will start there and see how it goes. I think wheel arches should be ok at Coombe, they seem to be anything goes , but I will check regs. Quote
conibear Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I am considering doing some of Caste combe Gt series as i am not a million miles away either, is slicks order of the day then? Quote
conibear Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 How many Sevens race and is there much competition on list 1b's?? Quote
chrischild Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 There are several Caterham's 3 last time (1800's) and one Westfield Vauxhall 2l all running slicks. Lap times vary for these from around 1.12 to 1.20secs. Tony Michaels in a Westfield two seasons ago, got down to 1.07 275bhp Vauxhall Anderson, so there are some varying targets. Radicals etc are running 1.03-1.10ish Quote
conibear Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Only 4 Sevens Cricky that must feel like a track day Anyway, do you have a website link to the championship Quote
chrischild Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 That's 4 Caterham's amongst 25-30 cars in total, ranging from modified saloons running slicks, 700bhp Steve Norris EVO1X, Radicals, Jade's, Ferrari's, Lotus Exige etc. Web www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk Current Championship Westfield driven by Lee Joint is for sale at Racecarsdirect. Yellow/black nose posted yesterday. Quote
conibear Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I've been racing in Gt Sportscars for years, keeping one eye looking in the poxy mirror for a Jade, Radical etc. Nowadays there is about 20 Sevens regularily racing which trust me is safer and more enjoyable, but if your just starting your have the buzz whatever you race against. That Yellow/black Westy looks like it should be at an airfield Quote
conibear Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Semsec and MSVR, but Magnificient Sevens with the CSCC is a very good race series as well Quote
