Has anyone got any thoughts, ideas, experience of the new Seat Leon 1.4 tsi ??

The time is fast approaching to buy a car which will be used to transport 2 - 4 adults (not great distances though) and I do like the look of the Leon which does seem to tick the right boxes.

Golf 1.4's with the 120ps engine do seem more expensive., but I'm open to suggestions..

Suppose only snag is there doesn't seem to be too many second hand Leon's around at the moment with the 1.4 engine.

Cheers guys..

I've had golfs for some time.  Good cars.  But you pay for the badge.  If I wanted to pay more for the badge I could always buy an A3!  If I wanted to pay less I could buy a Seat or Skoda.  They're all virtually the same car underneath - different shell, different price tag.  Depends what you like.

I've got a Mk6 GT TDI on order and the new diesel engines are great.  Haven't had petrol for 6 years now so I can't speak about them.

Supposed to be a good car but a bit revvy and lacking in torque according to the reviews

I recently went for a testdrive in several cars the seat leon being the one i focused on as i thought they were good value for money

i took a 1.6 petrol out and found it gutless so i took the diesel out and found it again to be quite slow compared to my golf with the same engine(gearing may be diferent but didnt seem to like first gear)

i then went on a search for a car that i liked and found accidentaly the honda civic 2.2ctdi ex

pulls like a train and is quicker than the 1.8 vtec model and reallly economical so i bought one
