The Perfect Westfield

Just for interest, and perhaps to promote some interesting ideas for everyone for winter upgrades!

Imagine a scenario:

- you have a clean-sheet opportunity to build (or have built) your ideal Westy from scratch

- you have a bottomless pit of budget

- you have plenty of time

- you have all the necessary knowledge or access to people who do

Given a couple of minor constraints:

- it should be road legal

- you have to work with a chassis as supplied by Westfield, but it could be modified if there's a perceived benefit

- major body panels should be as supplied by Westfield or equivalent "pattern" body parts (eg Carbon Mods nose cone, Fluke dash etc etc)

How would you build yours? What would be your perceived "ideal spec"?

With a bottomless pit of cash the last place I would start would be a Westfield chassis, it's hardly the best 7 chassis around ???

Large doses of Titanium for a start

I wonder who will be the first person to post up a picture of their car

Think I might start with the 2.4 lump from this one complete with KERS button :D

depends on the use I was going to make of it. IE is it going to be used for circuit racing (in a road legal class) or sprints/hillclimbs or trackdays or solely as a fun road car? If the last then I'd probably go for a high spec. V8 lump with full weather gear. If it was solely or mainly a trackday toy I'd go for a Megabusa fully stripped out. For circuit racing spec is dictated almost entirely by the championship/class you wish to enter.

For a dual purpose fun road, and modified road class sprint/hillclimb car I'd probably go for something very close to what I've got now. That's an Aerosport with 2.0 litre duratec with an engine spec which is high power whilst still pleasant to drive on the roads. And get the suspension and steering well sorted, which I'm in the process of doing on mine!

mine would be fitted with a switch on the dashboard that would switch on warm sunny day :p  :p

I would get the chassis (MT75) braced espacially at the steering mounts, shotblast the chassis by a local company and the Powdercoated again locally (Sorry but Westfield P.C isnt that great) then clad the chassis with Carbon not ali using stainless rivets and black silicone , Orange body but Carbon nose, front and rear wings.

Powerplant Mmmm either a supercharged Raceline Duratec or maybe a V8 bike engine just for a laugh

All bolts would be titianium and gearbox casings and diff etc magensium, Cabon & Magnesium wheels, type 9 sequential box.

Carbon fuel tank and bell housing, Ali rad etc basically all the trickbits you could imagine with custom made Carbon seats ( to fit my fat  :arse: ) just the typical no expence spared type of stuff.

What I would really like is a full Carbon car like Geefin's but some of us are mere mortals
