focus rs engined westfield

im new here and have got a focus rs engine and i was thinking of putting it in a westfield and wondered if its been done before? any pics would be a help

I'ive not heard of the RS engine being installed specifically....BUT, a fair few have put in Zetec Turbos', st 170 engines.....

So have no doubt it would go....you would need to budget for a different exhaust manifold as the standard RS would probably not fit.......

I reckon it would be a good conversion though....Good luck.

Depends what focus RS it's from - the one with the zetec turbo I should think will fit quite nicely.  The one with the Volvo 5 pot not so much...........

its the mk1 rs which is basically just a duratec with a turbo

i've seen one and it was a factory built car the only one that they built.i'm sure if you speak to mark walker at the factory he will know all about it,this is what i really want to do with my car but i'm just waiting to get a engine at the right money

Fords naming convention went a bit wrong with this one....

I would consider this engine a blacktop zetec, not a duratec........Even though it says duratec on the cam cover.

The exhaust will still be on the left of the car, whereas a 'real' alloy blocked duratec will be on the right.

That said, as it's effectively a zetec, you would have no problems getting one in a westfield, and all engine mounts etc can be bought off the shelf....only deviation from the norm would be the turbo plumbing.

The Westfield with h focus rs engine was built in 2004 as a standard 2l Zetec and was upgraded to the focus rs engine in 2005

I sold it in 2007 after owing it for 3 years I still have the build photo when I made it.

Engine was standard but had to make / mod the exhaust manifold and make a 3" exhaust

A charge cooler was fitted which was better for space, bellhousing was modded to fit mt75 gearbox

Car was setup and tunned at northampton Motorsport

The car was a yellow SeiW with V8 bonnet and ducted nose cone with caterham 16" hpc wheel
