You will get one cheap. They are reliable but not too cheap to run, 10 to the gallon when you nail them and 20 when you do'nt. Key thing is to keep the oil changed in the "yaw Control" 4000 miles, and they eat clutches.

Do not hope for a decent ride, they also break your teeth on every bump.

But they put a big :D  :D  on your face.

No nothing at all about them at all, but if I was buying one then spot on main dealer history and no modifications at all would be top of my list, plus a careful look for body damage/repairs. Look carefully at the owner before you buy too.

You could ring a dealer up to check on service intervals & costs. I would expect consumables such as brake pads to be expensive too  (ask about that too).

Join the owners club and hang around the web sites;  Google might answer a few questions too.

For me probably too rorty and hard as an every day car, you want something sensible my son , buy a diesel Mondeo.

To be honest if you can find( and they are like rocking horse s+++t) an STI Type RA Scooby, they are twice the car, better ride and cheaper to run but just as quick.

You take a gamble on these cars main dealer or otherwise. I've had both and both were good but scooby more refined. Good luck

thank's for the reply's but decided against the evo after having a run in one, just going to play havoc with my back it's that harse a ride :( ,not realy interested in a scooby, every young lad in were town has one(how they get them insured ill never no) ??? Do like them though

going to see i  can get a test drive in a focus rs to see how that compare's,probably be around 2002,should score a few points with swimbo if i go down the focus route aswell :D

throw your coment's on the rs on ride and running cost's etc and ill hit google to see what i can find out

I went for a WRX over an STi when I had one. Just less frantic all round which IMO made it better road car. Still plenty fast enough when you spank it. Get a PPP WRX and you get the best of both worlds.

imprezas are great cars - very reliable

too many about though now so image has gone downhill with their sales

evo will cost a packet to run with fuel and service intervals

If you like the Imprezza but couldn't live with the image (I can't blame you) then try a Forester turbo.  Looks half way between a car and a 4x4 but drives like a Scooby, well equipped and very comfortable, reliable and best of all totally overlooked by Chavs  :t-up:
