Hi

I am trying to registar a part built Westy, I have finished the build and made the application for the IVA test, I bought the car from a dealer who in turn took it as a trade in. VOSA have requested that I supply letters from both previous parties stating what work they had completed. Obviously I will have to write the letters and post them to the respective parties to agree to and sign. What are VOSA looking for? Obviously I will have to word the letters to the effect as not to aportion liability ie engine fitted but no torque checks made etc putting the owness on me to take all necessary pre cautions regarding the safety of the vehicle. What are other peoples experiences?

Thanks

I would assume they are looking for verification that the car has been ameteur built and not constructed by a person or company in the business of constructing motor vehicles.  If you cannot prove that the car was either built by yourself or an ammeteur build then it would be tested as the more onourus class C and not Class A.  For SVA a class C vehicle had to use the engine and one other major component from the same donor and you were required to provide the nessary details for this.  I don't think a class C could be registered on a Q.
