bultacobarry Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I am thinking about purchasing one of these systems for working on my kitcars. I mentioned to Stu that I am a WSCC member and he offered me a 10% discount for an order in August, and 15% for a bulkbuy of five or more systems. Anyone interested in a bulkbuy ---------------------------------------------------------- Message from Stu at Levo-Artis Hi Barry, The 1000kg system would be fine - the only thing to consider is if you may need the added versatility and easier lift of the 2000kg system. If not and if you don't mind winding the scissor jacks then the 1000kg system will be the best value. Adding Cross Bridges obviously adds to the cost, we can make to suit both vehicles if the track is the same (or similar). Lift beams can be made to suit but you will have to tell me if a design to suit both is possible. Most customers purchase the main system first to make it easier to assess the needs once the cars are on the system. I have no bulk buy at the moment but I am prepared to offer 15% off for 5 or more orders and 10% off for one off orders for westfield club members. Orders to be confirmed by the end of the month (August 09). Quote

gixermark Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 anyone on here use this system ?? what advantage does this have over say a hi lift jack, and 4 axle stands ?? I like the look of the whole package, but can;t help but think it may be a pain puming up two trolley jacks to get the rear level with front, fitting end caps... then having to crawl under to pump up the cross members front & rear to get the wheels off the ramps ? I'm still unsure what the ideal garage solution is for 'seven' maintenance.... Quote
dhutch Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 what advantage does this have over say a hi lift jack, and 4 axle stands ?? Not sure, speed maybe? I think there would be a lot of milage in just having a large raised ramp. - Like wheel ramps, only for two wheels. - Totatly static, just drive the car onto them. - Simple making the car 8inchs higher to work on! bhouse Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I have a set and they were a very worthwhile investment. They bring the whole car up to a very comfortable height for working on (from the top as well as underneath). If you need to get the wheels off it's easy to slide a bottle jack on one of the cross beams. I also use the bottle jack to support the gearbox when I take the engine out (a fairly regular occurrence with the A series!). I'd say that the main advantages over axle stands are: Speed - just drive on and the car's at a good working height Safety - the whole system is very stable Versatility - you can just put the car on the inclined ramps if you don't need access to the full underside Convenience - the cross-beam is a great place for storing nuts, tools etc - and it looks cool! There's a pic of my car on the ramps on the Levo Artis website. Third one down... Brian Quote

(a very large gazibo, that the university have decided didnt look nice, even though they supplied it when we asked for some ondercover space last time. Quote

Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 if they can hold up a delorean they must be good Quote
gixermark Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 i can see the appeal of the drive on ones Brian... saves the two trolley jacks, and ball ache to get level then reverse to get the car back down... I assume with the cross members - using the bottle jacks to get teh wheels of the actual ramps.. you need to then keep them in place to keep eth car 'suspended' ? or is there a way to secure the cross members onto and across the ramps ?
