I didn't know Roland but he seems to have been a top bloke. My condolences to his friends and family for their loss.

As was posted above its a tough week for Westie people, motor sport people and petrolheads with terrible news all round.

I was really sorry to read this, I only met him once but I received his help on several occasions. He will be sadly missed.

Again I never met Roland, but anyone who was membership secretary for a national club has my greatest respect and has to have been a great guy.  Mine and my families deepest condolences to Rolands family.

One of the very first wscc people I met. He made us very welcome and set the tone that has held true ever since.

Very sad news.

Roland was obviously one hell of a man judging by the comments on here. I will always remember the warmth and affection displayed for Roland at the awards do in February.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

R.I.P. Roland.

Even when someone is very ill it still comes as a shock to hear they have slipped away from us, in Roland's case even more so bearing in mind the positive way he lived what turned out to be his last few months.

On behalf of Northants Area WSCC members our condolences to Roland's family and friends,

Thanks for everything you have done for us (and especially the AOs) and we will make sure that this great club goes from strength to strength in your honour Sir.

I never met Roland in person but my contact with him

within this club showed me he was totally proffesional, kind ,

generous with a special kind of humour that is very rare,

this is very sad. marcus
