Roland Garratt

This is perhaps a posting that I never wanted to make.

Many of the WSCC Membership will know that Roland Garratt (Memb Sec) has had a long hard battle fighting cancer since last October, during which time he has undertaken all his club duties and lived life to the full, ticking quite a lot of things on his "To Do" list along the way. The most recent of which was attending last weekends Brit GT at Donington.

Early Sunday morning Roland passed away peacefully, with his family at his side.

The thoughts of all the WSCC are with the Garratt family at this time.

If anyone has any immediate membership queries please direct these to chairman@wscc.co.uk - New members may see a short delay in being processed, we trust you will understand and be patient.

As soon as details are known of Rolands funeral and arrangements for flowers, I will post information.

and on a personal note - Thanks Roly, you got me  ;)

Leaves a huge hole in the WSCC - very sad news indeed.

My thoughts are with Roly's family at this time.

If there is a positive note - it is that Roland continued to relish life to the full - right up to the end.  He will be sadly missed.

Hear, hear - it's both a reminder and an inspiration to us all.

I didn't know Roland well, but from my own brief experience in his company and from all else that I've heard, we've lost one of the good ones.

I will forget neither the poignancy of applauding Roland at the awards do nor having the pleasure of his company for a while on post 1 at Curborough this year.

Condolences to family & friends, RIP Roland.

RIP Roland, I am pleased he managed to keep going right up to the end and did get to tick of a lot of the "to do" list before he went.

Great guy, who we will all miss a lot.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Rowland - I did exchange posts with him once though. Nevertheless I am saddened to hear of the death of someone who was held in such high regard by members. I hope his family know how revered he was by the WSCC membership.

I and my family pass on our sincere condolences.

Thanks to Roland for all his hard work in making the WSCC a great club and lets all make sure it continues to be so in his memory.
