Jam Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 hello, just moved to the westcountry for a while and looking for a sympathetic MOT tester in the Truro/Penryn/Falmouth area for the westy. Any recommendations? I will travel further so really anywhere in Cornwall basically! Also, if anyone is up for a meet/blat/pint in the area let me know. Cheers. Quote
cidersurfer Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Jam You could do worse that the Cornwall AO! Bodmin... Linky for details... and welcome to Cornwall, you won't leave... Quote
Ginger wingnut Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Welcome to Cornwall home to some of the best coastal driving and of course the worst summer rain ive seen in years! With regards to Garages and MOT's i suggest you tip your hat to Matt Seabrook, though he will probably jump on this thread anyway. Quote
Jam Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Cheers , looking fwd to some sunny coastal blats. If the rain EVER stops that is I'll hang on to see if Matt posts otherwise i'll try the Bodmin garage. I did contact Matt b4 to ask about any local meets. Think he said there's something in the pipeline. probably old ground but: Has anyone ever managed an airfield day or similar down here? Jam Quote
Jam Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Doh! Excellent, i'll give them a call. Cheers. Quote
Doug D. Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Welcome Jam Matt doesn't do Mot's, I take mine to Hillside Garage Little Polgooth just outside St Austell, Andy who works there is a fellow westy owner. No Track days down this way I'm afraid, your only way to get on track down here is to do St Eval sprint near Newquay or Castle hillclimb at lostwithiel. Hope to Catch up for a blat soon if the liquid sinshine ever desists Quote
cidersurfer Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Just to clarify, Matt doesn't do MOTs on the premises but he does them for you via an arrangement with an MOT tester that is approx 50metres away from him and they know Westys too... Quote
cidersurfer Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 And besides it's worth a visit just to meet Buttercup. The teas not bad either... Quote

Woops,Sorry Didn't explain it very well, tis what comes of trying to post while working at the same time, I mentioned Hillside for MOT's cos they are Westy friendly and a reasonably convenient from Falmouth. But for everything else to do with keeping a scruffy battered looking green westy flying I go and hassle Matt (check out his x/flow to Zetec conversions ) Quote
