David - Don't do it, i'm sure you'll get more use once things settle down a bit with the newborn and i used to get out more when my lad was very young (from about 3)as he used to come with me and give SHMBO a quiet day.

On the other side - here's a car / engine that even Mr Beeland hasn't tried yet  :p

I had a TVR cerbera, 4.5 Red Rose 420 genuine bhp

Fantastic car, the noise, experience, everything, I will buy another, but I am waiting for a specific car to come up for sale which i recently missed.

I had no real issues with mine and did a nice 2000 mile trip to France in it hassle free.

If you buy a TVR, go in with your eyes open and you won't be disappointed as they can be trouble, but there are an awful lot that aren't.

Got to be a Porsche - don't like them but they are the best everyday supercar you can buy without a shadow of doubt - the only thing that comes close driving/reliability wise is a BMW M3.

Hi Glen - hope all is ok.  I don't really wanna get rid, but it's just hard at the mo as you have acknowledged.  If it doesn't sell soon, it's staying...

Porkie - good idea, selling both and getting a 996 Turbo (997 still too expensive) is an idea I have considered.  Insurance is dead money to me.  I insured a Ford KA for £2,000 when I started driving a few years back.  I don't mind paying up to £1,500 these days but age and location etc. sometimes means that premiums on high performance cars can be higher.

Edd - loving that pic!!!

Keep the car chap - I have three kids, all four and under, and can honestly say that the westy gets used on a regular basis

usually in the evenings, you will find that once you get through the first handful of weeks a regular routine is established and you get your evenings back - so it's time to get the westy out of the garage, or maybe go tinker in the winter

My kids are all in bed b4 6.30 so that really allows good westy time

I use mine all the time and cannot think of a reason to sell

Like has been suggested, you have a good quick everyday car that is fun, and most importantly safe for the kids

Your westy with a small amount of cash could be sorted and be the ultimate toy - If I had your car I would - stick a full cage on it for safety - give yourself a bit more bhp and maybe change the wheels

Good luck in whatever you do  :t-up: and enjoy the little chum

If you want to sell you had best get on with it before the summer is gone else the price will drop and no-one will buy.

John, it's up on a few enthusiast sites aswell as Pistonheads and Carandclassic.  Unsure of what else I can do.

Thanks Cleggy mate.  If it doesn't sell, I will be doing just that.  Charlie is now settling into a routine and with the summer ahead (sunny, I hope) I will be able to get out in it more.  I have six weeks off as of next week, so I imagine I'll be able to get in it.

If I do decide to keep, there's no reason why I can't modify it a bit more!!!!

see how you go chap - I do keep thinking about a full cage now though - when you got kids it makes your own life seem a lot more important

I love Cerbera's

One day soon, when I have a garage big enough for 2-3 cars

TVR you will pull your hair out with the reliability (even though the Cerb can be one of the best of them for that)  BUT its not somewhere I would ever put children in!

Yep all because illinformed comments are posted all over the web  :bangshead:  :bangshead:

:bangshead:  :bangshead: Yep f**king unreliably TVR don't know why I ever bought one (can you hear me laughing)

Oh yes cause it just did 2800 hard miles in 10days and never missed a beat.

So that makes 8000+ trouble free miles in 8months what a dog I bought  :arse:

Come on Mr Ashcroft....you aren't seriously trying convince a bunch of car nuts, that TVR's are in fact reliable.. are you....?

I appreciate you have had no problems with yours, but that seems to be the case that some are fine and others keep breaking.........I'm sure the later ones are 'better' but TVR's did have their faults....

By the way, this would never put me off buying one...I love um and would have one tomoorrow if I could....A Cerbera in Orange...ummmmmm yes please.

Paul.

Keep it, you can stay in being a good daddy looking after the kids, and the missus can go out for a play on an evening leaving you completely guilt free about abandoning them!!   :D    :D
