Wind blowing the b****y doors off!

Hi, I am wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. I own a 1990 SEiW, If I drive it without the doors - no problem. If i drive it with the roof up - no problem, however If I drive with just the doors on as soon as I reach around 65-70mph the wind blows it so it comes inside the car, the wind then gets under it and starts to pull it off its hinges. (Obviously not a problem with a passenger as their shoulders hold the door in place. Drivers door again isn't a problem as my shoulders hold it in place.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mart. :)

This usually happens when the fixing strap on the sidescreen is to far rearwards and/or the rake of the screen is slightly wrong and the sidescreen doesn't align with the rear wheelarch correctly.

|Agree with NickPro.

I elongated the holes in the sidescreens so that they sat lower down at the rear and they are better now with regard to the problem you have raised.

Velcro tab on the inside of the trailing edge seems to work well.

I had this problem some time ago where the doors sat too high (about an inch above the windscreen) and a replacement windscreen was at a slight steeper angle than the old one, thus not allowing the doors to align with the rear wheel arch. I also lowered the doors slightly and it was fine.
