Asterix Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Anyone got experience of the "PRG Minisporter", as shown in here? Quote
Bananaman Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Not had one personally but here there pretty simmilar to BJames in quality/towing terms. Quote
thos Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Looks a little narrow. Woodford are due out with a range of enclosed trailers, no pricing yet, but rang this morning and told it would be 'competitive'. Quote
Asterix Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 ta both. Current favourites are the PRG one above, Brian James Minno Shuttle (or Sprint Shuttle if I'm feeling flush) and the Woodford referred to above - any experience of any of those (or any others) welcome. N.b. no canvas (must be solid walled/ floored/ roofed), no DIY conversions, must be double axle, max trailer weight of 1350kgs, bed must *comfortably* fit a SEi wide (with factory widetrack front suspension and 13x6 Minilites running 205 Yoko A048r's/ 215 ACB10's and standard rear suspension, same wheels running 205 Yoko A048r's/ 185 ACB10's). And, as it's going to live on the front drive, a request from SWMBO..."must be pretty" Quote
cast iron Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Hi Pete We have the minisporter, works fine even with widetrack. Tows well, has a much better coupling (Bradley hydratow) than the tin crap found on most others. Quote

davidgh Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Minno Shuttle with security hitch works well for me. Pros: excellent to tow completely (at least almost) dry inside not tooo spensive (all things are relative) good tyre rack (on which I've built in a small tool chest) Cons: large rear opening means it's not as good as a Sprint Shuttle for sheltering from the rain with the door open poorly designed front access makes it very difficult to tie down front wheels (so I haven't bothered -- no issues) could do with a couple of inches more bed width HTH Quote

Woodford are due out with a range of enclosed trailers, no pricing yet, but rang this morning and told it would be 'competitive'. news from Woodford... 4000 will be like 6000 (flat sided with options on the side doors) and probably BJ shuttle price...release date a couple of months away. 3000 will be priced within the next week 2000 release date a couple of months away but will be the 3000 with 4' cut off the back (which sounds a lot, maybe he meant the 4000 with 4' off) Quote
Rob Navin Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I use a tracsporter and have to say its been first rate. All of the Brian James ones I had seemed to suffer on the electrics but this has not been an issue with the PRG Mine is fine to tow even with the micra on it, its just too small for the cortina so it may be going. It will be replaced with the Tracsporter XL if it does get chopped in. Quote
davidgh Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 What's Marmalade's max width DGH? Greetings Gaul 1610mm over the rear arches. 1590mm over the rear tyres. It's a tight(ish) fit D Quote

KerryS Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 a request from SWMBO..."must be pretty" So whatever it is it needs to be painted to look like a hedge..... Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 My open trailer is a PRG on which the sporter is based - had it for a good few years and it tows great and wide enough for an SEi wide with Cat widetrack fitted Quote
