megastu Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Hi Folks, Just removed my Westfield reverse box from my MegaBlade with the intention of selling and getting a straight through shaft from Baily Morris, I have only had the car 2 months and have used the reverse gear maybe 4 times i have just learned to park in places that i can get out of, My mate who races in the Scottish Hillclimb/Sprint Championship says that next season i will have to have some sort of reverse gear fitted to race, I have heard some horror stories about the reverse box, whether true or not i dont know ?? So what other methods are there for a reverse ?? Regards, Stuart Quote
Norman Verona Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Hole in the floor and pedal backwards OK, I'm going..... Don't Quaife do an electric reverse? Quote
megastu Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 Hi, Where can i get a electric reverse from and are they easy to fit ?? Cheers Quote
a4gom Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 mnr have developed their own reverse box, they used to fit electric reverse's. there is supposed to be very little back lash in their box and i've seen back to back r/road tests on a motor with a.n.other reverse box fitted and then the mnr one and it gained about 5bhp. i'm led to believe they are looking at selling around the 500 mark they are a similar size so it might be a straight swap? if its just for racing though a bike starter in the tunnel with a gear between the prop and diff should do the trick. stewart pickles Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 you need a reverse in road going class's for sprints and hillclimbs,ab performance were doing electric reverse kits a bit ago but don't know how good they are Quote
