langy Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Sean. woodbridge has a noise level of 102db so might be a nice if i can meet it what levels does yours reach as yours is a pinto as well Mine comes in at about 89db, then again i do have a f**k off big silencer My old silencer which was a similar size to yours was very high 90's Quote
langy Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 not even had geometry done yet so will be a lil while before I do my first turn If it's any consolation, my geometry has never been set-up and it seems to handle OK If it's your first track day you'll be buzzing no matter how it handles Quote
RichP Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Are you all not coming to the WSCC event at Mallory Park in August? That must be a good intro to track days as there'll be loads of support there. Quote
Porkie Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I need to invest in some cheapy wheels and tyres so I do not knock out me A048's Not sure I understand the logic of that one matey! Its not like tyres are expensive for the Westys and they are not that hard on them as the cars are light! I love Bedford. Not been for 3 weeks now!! thats toooo long for me.... I'm having withdrawl symptoms! Great first venue for you as well in my opinion Quote
Bean Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Bedford is an excellent venue, great for beginners with lots of run off area. I did a track day there three years ago, they were quite strict on noise then, I've heard much stricter now. There were two nobles on track, both thrown off for being too noisy, plus a BMW driver for generally driving like a t**t. Quote
RichP Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I need to invest in some cheapy wheels and tyres so I do not knock out me A048's Not sure about this plan Cleggy! On the track this is where your A048's will come into their own - you have a proper chance to really get some heat into them and see how they stick. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes. Don't go for it with a set of boil-in-the-bag blue stripe tyres - you'll really miss out! Quote
housebeautician Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 cleggy nigels z4 aint that slow. i just been out for a whirl in it. and from now on nigels name is bond Quote

I sorta get where you are coming from on that one ... but my thoughts are really not to see how fast I can go, but to have fun and generally get the car to be doing exiting stuff around the corners - so the intention was to go buy some cheap wheel and tyres, spend all day sideways on s***ty rubber and not give a toss that i have b******d the tyres at the end of the day - you get my drift (excuse the pun) I guess if i was going with the intention of trying to keep up with other quicker cars/drivers i would be sticking with the A048's - but that is not the plan - well not yet anyway Quote
housebeautician Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 sean i wont hold my breath on meeting the 101 limit then. will arrange a noise level test at bedford soon otherwise it will be to late for this season. thanks for the info tony Quote

Porkie Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 [quote name=Cleggy' date='Jun. 16 2009,166] I will be at work next tuesday but I could leave the bits at my mums house if you like Cleggy? Westys still at Proalloy I'm afraid. Think they are making a jumbo sized new fuel tank today. Very excited... cant wait to drive it when its finished! Quote

Too much 'out of control' / sideways action would probably bring out a black flag. Quote
