Major Stare Posted May 30, 2009 Author Posted May 30, 2009 Looks like option 3 then, will be "sorting" it tomorrow Car also needs new discs and pads all round & a service. Will let you all know the outcome, just need to remember to NOT take our 6yr old son, who would more than likely say "dad fixed the window with glue this morning" Quote
cairnnut Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Normally on a scenic its the plastic bit that attaches to the glass that breaks, The mechanism is cable opperated so you will have to wedge the glass in the up position. unfortunatley the plastic cursor is not available as a spare part. door card is easy to remove but there is a hidden t20 screw behind the door pull that needs a bit of jiggling to remove , also the card is hooked on so needs to be lifted by about 1 /2 inch (no clips). a good sales appraisal will check the windows (so you will probably get away with it !) Things like disc & pads & cambelt (5 years or 72k) would be allowed for, most main dealers will get it underwritten by a trader Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 QUOTE 1) 2 tyres (if you were being picky the rears were past there best to) £200-400 2) full service -£150 3) mot - £50 4) cam belt - £300 5) occasionaly made a clonk from the front suspension, which according to vRS forums was likely to be wishbone bushes at 70k on the clock. £ Martin, 1 to 4 are visable or checkable. % would show up on a road test. Not you problem, the dealers job to appraise properly. Same as the window, dealers job to appraise. We had an appraisal form when I was a dealer. Our dealer system has a built in form the salesmen are supposed to complete. It's more of a check list and is recorded against the px in the vehicle ledger. I only know one customer who uses it. They offered me £2300 I politley thanked them for there time and left Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 All this for that! Jon, you've wasted our time. Still, you've got a very clean car. Quote

JeffC Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 04/04 Renault Scenic Expression, 1.5dci, 39K They offered me £2300 renaults are normally off book in the trade but Glass"s trade in values it at £3000 with 54k, If its nice enough with low miles it would make £3500+ in auction as cars are through the roof at the mo dealers are fighting over stock, I sold 10 cars last week and havnt yet replaced one due to the prices Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 So in atempt to shaft a car dealer you got karma Quote
Major Stare Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Jeff, Im aiming for £3200 -£3500 based on only 39K miles. Another Nissan dealer offered us £2500 today. Is the market really that bad? Quote
dhutch Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Bodge it, the dealership won't care as the car will almost certainly get moved on to a 2ndhand dealer or straight to auction... Tbh, sadly, that would be my plan. If i was selling it privatly it might be diffrence, but to a dealer.... Meh! Daniel Quote
cast iron Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I work for Nissan and I am reading this thread Just tell me which dealer its going to and i will let them know Seriously though as Norman sugested, a dealer can do you for fraud just as much as you can him. He will ask you to sign a decleration that states the condition of the car, if they find it doesn't meet the description they may come after you. Quote
