rose5691 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 What difference would I see if I replaced my Zetec 2L from Webbers to these-how will it affect the performance and is there anything else I'd need? Cheers.
rob iles Posted May 30, 2009 Author Posted May 30, 2009 Performance as a whole would be greatly enhanced much better acceleration throughout the rev range (no more popping and banging, sluggish starts in the cold) you may or may not see an increase in bhp dependant on ecu used and tuner setting up deffinately better on fuel consumption there are a lot of peeps on here that have gone down the bike tbs route and all of them are very happy with the results gained (just ask in techies) as for what else is needed change tank to injection or modify existing with a swirl pot (loads of info in techies) fuel injection pump pre pump filter return fuel line fuel pressure regulator if anyone wants to add any info feel free hope this helps rob
westy666 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 lol come on Rob ... put them on ebay and watch the price go through the roof. I sold the 170 manifold on its own - damaged - for 70 quid a couple of months ago. Demand is high (not that you would know on here lol!) imo ofcourse
rose5691 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 i'm tempted but really unsure of the final cost including everything-and where to get it done!
westy666 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 i'm tempted but really unsure of the final cost including everything-and where to get it done! It really is a diy job rose5691 - probably something worth doing over the winter though. Biggest cost I suspect would be the ecu remap/update & RR session - the other items rob lists can be got off ebay cheaply and then its just down to some methodical installation. Loads of us have done the switch to TB's so you wouldnt hit anything that atleast one of us had overcome before. get yer chequebook out man
fatbaldbloke Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 If it's any help I've written up some details on the conversion to bike TB's on my website. Click on the www link below and go to the section on Westfield throttle bodies.
rose5691 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 fbb, I see the golf section, i've just come back from scotland and it was beautiful . missed the westy though
