Tim Reid Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 As some people may know I after only one session at Abingdon I went out for the second only to hear a knocking noise. I imidiatly came in and was advised it sounded like my big end. The engine was not run again to save any further damage. On inspection it appears oil scavange caused the crank bearing cups to be damaged so would need some bottom end work. So, I am either going to strip for parts that people would like... let me know what you want and how much you are offering. OR, you can make me an offer for the whole engine, you can either get the crank balanced and re-ground and fit new bearing cups or fit replacements. The engine was fitted to a factory built Westfeild in 96 so would have only been 1 year old (phase 2 silver top started in 95) it then did 14,000 miles and was looked after well by Northampton Motorsport until I damaged it It started life at a Westfield broucher value of 175bhp and I have a dyno graph to show 165bhp (at the fly) which is much more accurate. Includes, Cams, Westfield shortend sump, Flywheel, Clutch, theromstat, etc, etc. http://img.photobucket.com/albums....874.jpg Separatly, I have a Westfield engine mount for the intake site. I also have the brand new ford exhaust manifold, intake system (including injectors, fuel rail, butterfly), and belt covers from a 2.0 Black top if anyone is interested.

Put the ford original parts on Ebay. I have sold a few of the exhaust manifolds (don't ask where they came from) and got around £40 each for them.
