smylett Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Hi All, Ive had my westfield for a bit now. Its a SE built in 92 around a 68 cortina. On all the old MOT's its down as a Westfield SE, but the logbook states Ford Cortina. I know this isnt right, and i dont want to go through an SVA but ive heard of people having some kind of basic inspection from the DVLA and then been allowed to keep the reg and just have the name on the log book changed. From what i can tell if it was buit pre-sva, the builder should have got this changed but never bothered. Has anyone got this changed before??? Thanks Phil Quote
jeff oakley Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 You do need to get it changed one way or another, the facts are according to the law you are driving a Cortina which could make things difficult should you have an accident as technically you are insured for a cortina. There was an amnesty to convert reg documents like this but that passed. If you contact the guy listed below he used to work for the DVLA and now deals with paperwork for SVA/IVA and if anyone knows the way to deal with this the best it will be him Pauls contact details are Paul Jepson PO Box 4096 Pangbourne Berks RG8 7ZP email paul.jepson@kitcarreg.com Tel 01189 842303 mob 07748702987 Quote
