Guest Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If you are considering insurance for a short period only, beware the small print. I cancelled a policy with Adrian Flux just short of 2 months into the year, that is 10 months left to run. Annual policy payment GBP 240. Total refund GBP 80. The difference betwee this and the proportional refund you may expect (240/12 *10 = 200 less some fees) is made up of administration fees and commissions that are kept by AF or the insurance company for whatever the period left. I guess I should not complain as it is there somewhere in the documentation. But it still takes some swallowing. Quote
Norman Verona Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Complain and say you're reporting it to the Ombudsman. I had a policy with AF and was about to go over mileage. Apart from the abuse they hurled me the price quoted was ridiculouse. So I cancelled and got excellent service with MSN at a better price. Flux said the policy had no refund. I complained and got a reasonable refund, about 2 years later. Quote
kitemark Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I had some issues with AF, had a really unhelpful phone call telling me i would get no money back apart from £30 after a £200 policy i had i canceled as they lost all my paperwork i sent in to confirm the mileage and drivers license. They sent me an email after the call asking me to evaluate the call. I replied explaining the situation and suggesting they sort their policy out. i got a phone call about a week later telling me they had re accessed my call and policy i had canceled and i would get a refund back in my account within 3 working days. The girl on the phone did not understand that they had lost a lot of my money and i wanted it back. The follow up team that i sent the email too seemed a lot more on it. i now use a different insurance company. Good luck. Quote
cast iron Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I comented last year and someone on here claimed to work for AF and stated all had changed and how they would be much better. Dont see site or sound of him now Quote
Westy1700 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 i'm a born again cynic and they are all as bad as each other...and i've experience of osbornes, snowball et al over 25 years over building and running 7 differing kits... I've stuck with AF for the last 10 or so years, yes the service can differ but the overall price for an annual policy is always on the money, their fees are always clear in the paperwork and the cancellation terms and refunds are explained. try insuring anything else with WF performance for £200 a year. most insurers would run a mile.. FWIW i also insure my 600cc 61 bhp smart car with them - and its more than the WF....go figure that one out !!!! Quote
