joe Mac Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I wonder what's written on the V5 when you have an age related plate : if the car is SVAed in 2009 and then registred in 2009, but with parts from a donor from 1992, which year is written for the date of the first registration, or where is it written 1992, if 1992 is written somewhere. I suppose that 1992 must be written somewhere, if not, how the mot station can test the emissions for the engine regarding the year of the engine and not the 2009 registration ? Quote
MCB Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 My log book say's Date of first reg is 1985 and Date of first reg in uk as 2009 Mark Quote
combatsapph Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Mine has:- Date of first reg is 2008 and Date of first reg in uk as 2008 Both dates originally were 1987 but I told them this was wrong - guidelines clearly state both dates should be the date on your MAC certificate (from the SVA) - they amended the V5 no questions asked. Mine was done at the same office as Marks - DVLA are a law unto themselves. Quote
joe Mac Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 But, combatsaph, how will they know that your engine emission test has to be for an 1985 engine and not for a 2008, if you got 2008 for both dates ? Quote
combatsapph Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 On the front page of the V5 in the additional info box at the bottom it states "Emissions set as per SVA - 3.5% CO2, 1200ppm HC". Quote

Can you tell me where I can find the guidelines that state this? Quote
combatsapph Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 http://www.totalkitcar.com/tkc_article_123.php Just like a new ‘kit car’, a donor-built vehicle, (or ‘kit conversion’ as the DVLA calls them), will have a current ‘date of first registration’. I have a DVLA document at home that says the same - I'll get the name/ref number from it later. Quote
WestfieldMX5 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 A scan or online version of said document would be immensly appreciated, as I'm currently having issues getting my car registered in Belgium. There is a problem with the first date of registration which must be 2009 and not the year of the donor. If you can provide me with that document, I can at least show them this / or try to obtain a new V5. Quote
combatsapph Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If it's a V5 that's not been issued recently (i.e. last month or so) then I very much doubt you'll be able to get it changed. I had to speak to the DVLA case worker who did my paperwork and he admitted the mistake - the people on the desk and at Swansea weren't interested. Quote
WestfieldMX5 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 It was issued this february, so I'm hoping they will correct it. Quote
