se7enup Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 An update from Andy:- The local Plod did nothing other than give me a crime ref No. and only when I ranted did a nice lady Plod start helping me but by this time it was 6pm!!!! I reported it at 07.45!!! and I've been calling them every couple of hours since. Plod said she had called the Ports as I asked her too, but she told me she got no reply from them!? The Hotel's cameras don't work but the pub next door had a camera pointing at my car. Plod has seen the footage (at 10pm) after I ranted that the Pub wouldn't let me see it, and it does capture the scrote stealing it, but she can't make out the number plate on his 'small Suzuki type jeep' (her words). It was taken about 5.45am Sat morning. He was working on his own and waited at the pub entrance for over an hour before stealing it. He parked his car at the pub entrance (5 min walk away), jumped over the fence along the edge of car park and followed the hedge/stream until he got to my car and jumped back over to the car park side. He unhitched my trailer (after I assume cutting through the 'D lock I locked the handbrake on with) and then walked back to his car, reversed up, hitched up and drove off. My tow car was untouched. I can't explain how I feel as it's not just the financial value of the 7 and trailer, both of which are very bespoke, but all the hard work over the years getting them both to where they were. I'll post some pics up shortly so you can all see what both 7 and trailer looked like, and you can circulate. Quote
stewart pickles Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 best thing you can do is post pics up,and look out on ebay and the likes for multiple item lists of the parts you had on the car.my mate has just had his trailer nicked and that has some square holes cut out on the rear of the bed so will be on the look out for that.good luck. Matt Seabrook Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 b****r sorry to hear this Steve hope you get your car back. I know how I would feel if this happened to either of my cars. You cant put a value for insurance on the development of the car. Quote

se7enup Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Another update from Andy.... Email from Lady Plod as she looked at the CCTV at the Harvester again;- "I have taken a colleague with me who is a bit of an anorak in the Jeep department he thinks that the jeep is a swb Mitusbushi shogun/pajero mark 2." If anyone sees one of these towing a Brian James trailer (see pics in link above for what mine looked like) please call the BiB ASAP. Quote
Hammy Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Ask the plod to check Shoguns of that type and colour - there may not be that many around to go visit? Best of luck. Quote
