a4gom Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Type 9 in a narrow body? Got mine from westfield here, but they are cheaper from caterham here Quote
Hammy Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 but they are cheaper from caterham amazing price difference; Westfield are twice the price.. Quote
westy666 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 qh em680 looks about right from the picture Ive found on 'tinterweb but there's no dimensions so the image could be misleading. Did you change the gearbox in this rebuild or are you just replacing the mount? You'll be lucky to find a motor factors that would have one on the shelf given the age of the car theyre from but, as mentioned, WF or caterham will have exactly what you need. If you've changed gearboxes then there's every possibility that the mount location will have moved which will bring with it a (very minor) chassis mod. Damian Quote

Damian Yep, if it was a 4spd and now a type 9 you will need different location which may partly explain your problem. Lins too far for me to pop over (South Coast ) ) but defo check mounting location is correct then get the right mounts from WF explaining that it's for a Type 9 into a Narrow. Quote
custardtart Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 On the plus side at least the syntax police haven't shown up yet. Quote
pistonbroke Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 A few of us who changed from MT75 to a Type 9 box had the same problem You need to lower the chassis plate where the gearbox rear mount fits by about 25 mm or so Quote
green pinto Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 havn't changed a thing on rebuild just replaced all the parts its a type9 box with trick inners an quick shift took the car 2 bits replaced all the rose joints balljoints disc's pads shoes cylinders cables loom cars sat their ready to roll just needs engine an box fitting when i stripped the car i was in heaven. couldn't find anything 2 improve wish i had half the stuff when i was doing brisca f2 ps wide body Quote
pistonbroke Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 So if its had a type 9 in previous there should be no probs , wessy factory can supply the correct mount One of these u'ns Quote
