Now its been years since i attended an IET lecture , and i wanted to make this years but alas leaving for antigua and a wedding this week meant last week was busy

so for those of us who couldn't be there ,but want to understand , here is the whole explination about kers from the man who knows best ...

It is an hour and a half lecture so be warned .

There was a write up on KERS some time ago in Motor Sport , there was an great explanation of how these things work and an article about the research that McLaren had done into these some years back withh aview to using them on there F1 cars .

The gist of it was that McLaren had aproached the FIA (or whoever the governing body was at the time ) asking them if it was within the rules for them to employ a KERS device for the coming season . The FIA responded by examining the design and approving the  use  .

McLaren went ahead with there plans to implement the system only for the scheme to be rejected , after protests by .............
