On the B4440 Holtspur Lane, Wooburn Green southbound near the junction with the A4094 Wycombe Lane. Probably a regular Tuesday afternoon siting. Take care - the limits have changed here recently and you might be taken by surprise.

Wouldn't it be interesting to find out if a normal motorist got away with parking with all four wheels on a public footpath?  :bangshead:

Ta, I'll bear it in mind (always assuming I ever get the Westy up and running properly again   )

Come on Mate You should know by now that there's one law for one and one law for another in this country     ;)      :bangshead:

Also be aware that there's an Un-marked Silver 58 plate Skoda Estate doing the rounds in our area at the moment

Pulled a few on the A5 the other day

Very difficult to argue this one with the police as they say there isn't a specifc law which prevents parking on the footpath!!!

You normally have to resort to obstruction of the highway, but that only applies if someone cannot get past at that moment in time.

If that was a utility or contractor though they would be expected to barrier around and put out traffic signs etc.

Personally I'd be more worried about the lamp post in the middle of the road!   :durr:

Someone should report an abandoned van left in a residential area , could be wired  :sheep:

lived in marlow all my life and did work in beaconsfield for eight years so drove that way every day,  never seen an accident at that point EVER.

Thought they onle put speed camera units at accident black spots?

Its rumoured that the safety partnership now have a "state of the art"  crystal ball  :p

The imminent RTA which was due to occur at this location has now been avoided by deploying  one of our safety vans    :t-up:

(isn't technology great )

Within a mile of a site with 3 major accidents or fatalities in i think a 3 year period.

However "major" is a strech, as Shock is listed as Major, as it a broken finger........not my view of major.

Also a car with 4 people suffers a blow out and say hits the hedge/tree/ inaminate object causing all ocupents to be in shock.....yep, that is 4 major incidents in the same spot in a 3 year period.....now we can put one there/ within 1 mile of it. Nothing to do with an actual accident black spot at all, fate in this example.

last statistics i saw (2006 i think) showed a drop of some 15% in accidents at the camera locations. Did not however feel the need to show the increase in accidents prior to the camera where the panic braking caused more han a few bumps, nore the overall increase in accidents, but did however report an overall drop in serious injurys/death.....You can make statistics show anything if you only use some of them hey?

I thought that too but it occurs to me that the rules for fixed cameras might be more stringent than those for mobile cameras.

As far as accidents there are concerned, I did see one happen at the junction of the small road on the right that goes into an industrial area, but it was very minor. I lived in Wooburn Green for nine years a long time ago and Michael Aspel lived in a cottage on the village green then. He had a very nasty accident on the hill once - he said it was near fatal but I cannot find any confirmation of it on Google. That said, it would have been in the late sixties that it happened.

At least you can see them - I've been down that hill and they've been out of site behind the land rover dealers sign before

It used to go NSL down to 40 and then 30. Think it just goes straight to 30 now where it used to be 40. I'm sure they'll make a few pounds sitting there.

The highway code states that you cant park on a foot path unless a sign explicitly permits it. In addition you should not park near a lowered curb for impaired mobility transport. I would therefore expect that the evidence collected may not stand up to scrutiny in a court of law.

Maybe the blind ramblers association should go rambling by with white sticks waving.

Bang bang bang.
