You sad sad people, don't you know that if God had wanted us to ride bikes, he wouldn't have invented ignition keys.

I've got my coat and I have left, quickly!

Those bikes don't look very practical for putting your shopping in and if it rains, the lack of mudguards will mean you get spray all up your back.

Here's how we do bikes in Cambridge :

Road bikes - you ride from A - B as quickly as possible, in a group of 40 totally ignoring the scenery.  The bike is just a means of A-B travel.  You must ride in an inconsiderate manner to other road users (two abreast?).

Mountain bikes - more of a solitary or small group activity.  You enjoy exploring and trying to get the most out of the bike - you love adding "techy" stuffy to it without really caring what it looks like.  And you don't care how long the ride takes, as long as it's fun.

I can certainly see the link between Westfields and mountain bikes :-)

Right, I'm off to hide before the cycling short brigade descend for vengeance!

I'm into MTB Dave, but don't have a pic of my 'rig' as yet.

It started life as a 'cheap' Mongoose Otero but has been slowly upgraded over the last few months...

Fitted new Marzocchi XC500 forks

Upgraded crank/BB to Deore Hollowtech 2

Rear mech now a Deore LX

Rear shock changed to Rockshox MC3.3

New Raceface Evolve XC seatpost

New WTB Rocket V seat

Changed tyres to Panaracer Fire XC's

Changed from 24 spd to 27 spd with new Deore shifters and Deore 9sp cassette

Also went clipless a few weeks back using Shimano SPD's... only fell off twice whilst getting used to them  :p

Currently do around 60 miles per week, lost 3st8lbs in the last 4 months  :D

:D

Lol - It happens to everyone when they start with SPuD       and also when they've been riding for a number of years as I found out when I nearly broke my wrist falling off when stationary at a junction a few mths back  :D

You should be able to get some arty bike pics up mate

I got myself a 'previously loved' Santa Cruz Blur LT and it's the dogs

Very nice bikes the santa cruz, wanted a Nomad (even if it does looks like a dog having a crap!) but couldt justify the extra wedge, and didnt realy need full sus.

+ PACE are British!
