shakey Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 just had a knock back from vosa, seems they are really tightening there belt, i recently sent in an sva application along with an amature build form to book my sva before the dreaded cut off date, i sent that many photos and paperwork of the build that i had to pay postage of £2.79, ive had a letter back saying they want all reciepts for parts purchased , if i cant find or produce these then my application cheque will be refunded and i will have to apply for the new iva, i rang them and what a supprise the chat that dealing with it is on holliday? im trying not to loose my temper, Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 With mine I sent copies of 10 receipts for the major parts (chassis and engine) and high value bits and about 10 photos of various stages of the build. I made sure that the pictures showed the car was being built in a private garage, so plenty of wide angle shots showing the flower beds and neglected lawns and several bags of cement stacked up in the corner of the garage. wilsonch Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 That sounds a bit strange. I think i only sent sent the Major receipts to VOSA...kit from westfield, engine and rebuild, wheels, It was the DVLA that wanted every last nut and bolt receipt so they can stamp them with the reg plate number. h4muf Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Snap! Currently co-building a hood 2b with my mate. Got the dead same letter today saying not enough receipts/photos etc. We bought the kit 4 years ago, part built. Vosa wants us to contact the original builder for his photo etc.he could be dead!it was someone down south!!! Obviously we have the full donor car but what about everything else? We bought stuff from ad-mag,autojumbles etc,who gives out receipts from jumbles? My mates b****y suicidal with worry. What can we do? Regards Lee. Quote
shakey Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 thanx for the reply mates, im shopping around now getting reciepts made , as i also bought loads of stuff from autojumbles. boot sales ect, rgs p Quote
scruffythefirst Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Just had the same thing, they wanted a statement from the previous owner (bought the kit half finished) saying he was an amateur and the major recipts. Got through to the only bloke in the SVA department now dealing with kit cars and he admitted they are knocking back applications deliberately to force people onto the IVA. He also couldn't tell me anything about the IVA as apparently VOSA don't know anything about it either Quote
combatsapph Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Can you not say you have no reciepts because the parts were all 2nd hand and sourced from a donor vehicle which has since been scrapped - that's what I did for my build. Or are you aiming for a new reg? If so, then yes, you'll need recpts. Quote
h4muf Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 We`re just aiming for an age related plate, thats all. Not bothered if it`s going to be on a "q"just desperate to get through sva! See what happens on monday when we ring vosa. Cheers Lee. Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I just sent a few receipts for major items, and just a few pics, I stated that I was applying for a Q plate, I had no bother at all, that was six weeks ago, got a date for 2 weeks later (new years eve) and sailed through Quote
locost westie Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Hi I had the same letter, had no receipts as parts came from ebay, auto jumble and members from club, sent loads of pictures and receipts for new parts which I got from Westfield which wasn't many, only thing I didn't send with application was copy of V5 for donor vehicle, sent copy of that with letter saying what parts I had used from it, all ok now got my SVA date. Quote
combatsapph Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 If you're only going for an age related plate then just send them a copy of the V5 for the donor vehicle then - that's effectively your recpt. Quote
