pistonbroke Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Tell her you want half of the dogs , but as there are five to make things fair you will need to get the chainsaw out If you then take the back half no need to feed so no feed costs Sorry mate only trying to make light of what is a bad situation , Good Luck and hope you get it sorted out soon Quote
custardtart Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Can't you go back to the house when she's out, pick up the dogs and tell her you'll sell em if she doesn't cough up the car? Seriously, if you don't mind the car being sold it's probably worth around 2k upwards depending on the engine. Quote
perksy Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 This might sound daft but try and sort this out as amicably as possible Once Solicitors and their Fees start to get involved, this can start to get very expensive very quickly The Westy is worthless to her really and is probably taking up room/ costing Her for storage So offer a reasonable amount and get it back asap Quote
Thrustyjust Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I had to hide my westie for 6 months until all the dust settled before. Thanks to a mate with a large workshop for that and said I had sold it for not a lot. Good luck with sorting it out. Quote

Rory's Dad Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 When I heard your story at the pub Richard I just couldn't understand how well you were taking all this. It just sounded awful. So glad youv'e got the Westy sorted All the best. Rory's Dad Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Yep I echo all the good wishes for the future. Like Martin said you've handled it very well and kept your cool, thankfully it's worked out in your favour It amazes me how well some people cope with these situations. I've been with my first wife for 40 years , so I cant even imagine how I would cope with something like that Any way good luck Quote
Fent Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Christ mate, just read your thread. I went through the split last April and fortunatley it was very amicable and i had no problems getting the fat cheque for my share. Despite this it was still a very hard time and i'm glad to see you kept your head. So now you have what you want from her you can have her taken out, I know someone who would do it for a crate of stella if you're interested. Quote
Gooders Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 If you have a receipt for the parts / car purchased to date and in your name, I would be making a telephone call the the local police and reporting it as theft! Maybe she might have a rethink then and return it! Even if you don't have a receipt I'd still consider this as an option, or go one better and do her for blackmail! Having just got rid of my ex wife i do feel for you I had a similar issue where she took the keys for the Westy which forced me to move it and keep it outside luckly mine was on the road Maybe a Hitman!!!!! cleowuss Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 Cheers for all the support every body. I have now got it back where it belongs. A bit wet and mucky from being stored outside, will have to wait for a dryer day and give it a wash and brush up. Then I'll have to remember what I was going to do to it next Now just to find a job so I can aford to finish it.!!! Richard Quote
