Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 My, oh my what a wonderful day! Plenty of sunshine heading my way Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, I'VE PASSED S-V-A with apologies to Burl Ives As with all SVA's there's a story.... After vising relatives down south at the weekend, we were driving home (3 1/2 hrs) I felt myself going downhill even though we were heading north by the time we got home I had full blown flu, not man flu, but the real thing. Monday morning all my bones were aching, but I had to go in the garage, so I layered up, I managed 3 hrs then I was shivering uncontrollably, I went in the house ate something crashed out on the settee for a couple of hours then went back to the garage for a couple more hours. Tuesday Glen came round in the morning to cast an eye over the car and help fit the sva kit, by this time I was coughing and spluttering my eye's and nose were streaming, but I battled on till 4 in the afternoon and all was done. Today at 7am Glen was round.. what can I say....New Years Eve and the temperature was -7 And Glen was there helping me load the trailer goodness me thats way over and above the call of duty, Thanks, Thanks, Thanks Glen As I pulled off the drive Glen noticed one of the trailer tyres was flat...f*ck, f*ck, f*ck It was like an F1 pitstop, and off we went, for the 5 minute drive. At the centre the tester was great, speedo was dodgy, a quick adjustment and that was fixed, one cable tie and 8 washers to pack up the eye bolts for the harnesses and that was it. Thank you very much mister and a Happy New Year Quote

Glen H Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 As I pulled off the drive Glen noticed one of the trailer tyres was flat...f*ck, f*ck, f*ck It was like an F1 pitstop, I think we could have showed Bow & Luke Duke a few things with that tyre change When I grow up (if I ever do!) I want to be an SVA Inspector - that guy had no less that 3 15 minute bacon butty breaks before 10:30 Mind you it looked like he struggled to find anything to pick on the car so it could have been one of the fastest SVA's on record. Glad Hurdsey's got a New Years smile on his face with another 1st time SVA pass- even if he is in Bed with Man-flu Quote
Johnson Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Congrats Paul as has already been said what a way to end the year Quote
