If they fit speed limiters to cars three things will happen:

1) As has already been said, the vast majority of people will buy smaller engined cars, with cheaper road tax, so the Government will lose millions.

2) Nobody can speed, so all that money spent on speed cameras, scamera vans, etc will all be wasted and there will be no more money coming in from speeding fines, so the Government will lose millions.

3) The accident rate will  go up. Nobody will look at their speed anymore so they will start doing other things, make up, p*****g around with stereo, etc.

As an aside how do they propose to fit this to the 26 million cars (2005 number) that are already on the road? Are they proposing to pay to fit a box to everybodies cars at a cost of £260m plus or are they proposing that we all pay to fit boxes to our cars. Because if they are thinking the later then they can f##k off, I'll do time first...

also think its agood idea

give it a few months and they would realise its not speed that kills ,but poor driving .even at low speed.

then perhaps we could get rid of all these crap speed cameras
