RichP Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I did go for the Caterham version which bolt in rather than clip on. Little real difference except that I don't think Sabelt will supply the bolts to swap your current eye bolts. Persomal preference - makes them harder to knick! That's the only difference AFAIK. Pull up or pull down - that's another debate! Either have their compromise - I have pull down on the laps for which you can get to the tails easily, but they're harder to pull. Swings & roundabouts to be honest. I have a cunning plan to add a device to overcome this, but that's another story! Quote
Mid life crisis Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 If you in the future intend to have a go at sprinting you will need 3" 4 point. I personally use Sabelt clip on but have fitted split pins to the metal clasps, just for added peace of mind. Quote

langy Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Just reading this thread has 'prompted' me to think about changing mine. I need the Caterham style for the Xtreme, just 1 question are the Sabelt lap straps pull up or down ? Quote
chris7273 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I was first interested in the Sabelt harnesses (ratio price/quality). After some reading on the forum, I took contact with Prima Motorsport, very good contact ! I think I am going to order there. As they are made on order, They give the choice for the fixings and for the pull up or down lap belt. What is the best : up or down ? Quote
langy Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I guess the up is easier for tightening once you are sat in the seat. I currently have 2" wide Sabelt's and they pull down and are a pain to tighten when seated. Quote
chazpowerslide Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I have Sabelt 3x3 (sholder/laps) with the alloy sholder adjusters and am adding crotch straps too. Pull down to tighten on on sholder and pull forward on the laps. Comfortable and easy to use. A vast improvement on the 2x2 Willians I had initially. Chaz. Quote
langy Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Just been doing a bit of price online checking and it seems to be that Europaspares seem to be the cheapest at £115 for a 3x3 Caterham type, compared with Demon Tweeks at £140 Quote
