dombanks Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 after my ill fate attempt to fix the central locking on that damn clio i still cant lock the doors, and still have this central locking unit. this is a copy of the wiring diagram from it, can anyone explain/understand it as i thought i had it and quite obviously didnt. i think the locks are +ve/-ve trigger, i have a diagram of the renault wiring already in the clio but i cant scan it in so i could copy bits of it edt. on another bit of the crap instructions the top 3 are the lock section, bottom 3 unlock section. i should also say i thought it was orange and orange/black to ground, yellow yellow/black to 12V and the other two were the open/close signal. SteveH Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Sparky to the forum please. Last call for Sparky Here I am If it's wiring to the original Renault door locking you shouldn't be using the +ve/-ve trigger diagram. You need to locate the signal from the door switch, remote receiver or internal locking switch that triggers the CDL control box this signal will probably be down two wires, one for lock and one for unlock and will be either a +ve or -ve pulse. Usually the best bet is to wire into the back of the door locking switch that most Renaults have somewhere on the dash or by the gearlever as it's an easy place to break into the wiring without having to get into the doors. A few details of the car, in particular how old it is and confirming that it does have OE CDL already fitted, would help. Quote
SparkyB Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Your correct in your understanding of the colours, O & O/B to Earth, Y & Y/B to +12 leaving W & W/B to trigger the locking. As Steve has mentioned, your best point of attack is the central locking switch inside the car (if there is one). You may find however it isn't a 12V pulse but a resistance change, in that case you would have to use W and Y with a suitable resistor in parallel to the switch to mimic it. Shout if you need more help Quote
dombanks Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 thanks steve that sort of makes sence, its a 98 mk2 phase 1 clio with the switch by the gear stick. it has renault central locking i thought about tapping in there but ater looking at the central locking diagram in the haynes book i thought i was better to tap into it by the internal fuse box under the dash in passenger foot well. thats when it all went wrong. dombanks Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 ok i cant figure this out, so here is the wiring diagram for the central locking. befrore i tried to connect it up to the relays at the bottom and they all just seemed to trip each other and not the locks untill the fuse blew and the alarm went off (now removed). i cant figure the switch out and where connectors 6 7 22 11 go to so would i be right in thinking the pink/black wire is the unlock signal and the grey one is the lock signal so i would put my box onto these two (if i get it the worng way round the buttons will be back to front) which kind of trigger should i be using +/- ve, +ve or -ve Quote
SteveH Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Yep, I'd say you are about right, you need a -ve switched pulse onto the grey and pink/black wires that go to pins 22 and 7. I can't see the internal switch on that diagram, is it on another one? Quote
pistonbroke Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Dont waste yer time ont Froggy crap Buy a Ford Buy British, its better crap , you know it makes sense Quote
dombanks Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 the internal switch (by the gear stick) i think is the one labled door lock switch. I should have said on the diagram there are 5 of the door lock motors all linked together (easier not to draw them all) ill give it a whirl and see what happens thanks Quote
