a4gom Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Way back when we were kids peeps used to record this on a cassette to listen to during the week then racord the next weeks over the top etc etc. Is their a modern equivilent way of doing this? I thought there might be a podcast to download etc but it would appear not there are podcasts but they are only short and is mostly chat. I'm guessing this is something to do with copyright etc.. Any ideas, quality doesn't have to be cd like (it never was when we were kids) Quote
Darren B Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I have a freeview USB stick for my PC that also gets radio through the aerial. Part of the software is basically a digital recorder (ala Sky+). You could record the chart show through that, I would have thought. Freeview stick was approx £25 from PC World. Quote
DavidR Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Use this prog for recording from my PC. Freecorder User guide I use it with Firefox but I assume it works with IE too. It's a great way of putting progs from listen again on to an MP3 player. PS Hint: They say just start the freecorder when the prog starts but sometimes you have to start the recorder, pause, start listen again , and restart the recorder to get it to find the prog. Have fun..... Quote
Pilot Pete Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Why would you want to listen to the charts now anyway, its full of sh**e! Quote
a4gom Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 Cheers chaps, DavidR I had thought of that and did give it a try on Sunday but it was a little unreliable as the radio kept stopping and catching up / streaming or what ever its called. I'll give it another go this weekend. Darren B, we can't get freeview where I live, took us 12 years to get channel 4 through the aerial I have just thought of another option though, my mp3 player has audio in and a record function so I could record from my sky+ not sure how big a file 2 hours will be though will have to look at the settings on my mp3 and give it a try. Pete, its not for me mate its for my 10 year old. Quote
