I'm fairly sure it cuts the spark on the injection models too. This is why you hear a slight pop when up-shifting. Cutting the fuel is very hard to be smooth with, so I'm 95% sure it wouldn't do this. Quote
ludo Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 it seems to work with carb too as they offer it for hayabusa fitted with carbs. It's cutting ignition not the fuel although I think you can set it up to control injectors also. from their website: The control unit momentarily "kills" the engine by disconnecting the ignition coils Quote
moochofun Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 For those wondering about Carb engines... I have this on my 893 Blade westie. It cuts the spark at the coils - just found out as I'm removing mine at the mo in favour of a Pingel electric shift kit which is to go on the new Busa motor. I'm hoping to maybe utilise the downshift blip part but will wait and see how it goes... Quote
Frosty Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Well this is a nice list forming - hopefully we can get a good ddiscount on 15 units. A list of sales like this is hard to say no to with business how it is at the moment. Quote
richj2 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Id be interested in one of these at the right money anybody know how they compare to the trickshifter on the market. Quote
Frosty Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Id be interested in one of these at the right money anybody know how they compare to the trickshifter on the market. They look near-enough identical to me. Actually this gives me an idea. It's worth getting the quote based on 15, and then asking Trickshifter what they will do, then going back to flatshifter just like you do with your insurance quote. This way we'll get the best possible price on the system. Quote
richj2 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I think thats a fantastic idea and ya never know with recent credit crunch we might get em dirt cheap. As you ay they do look identical and if the quality is the same and if we can get them for 40quid a pop ill av 100. Cheers boys Quote
indy2000 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Keep me posted on how the discount evolves, I've already got a klicktronic system, but could be tempeted to sell it and buy the max/expert Chris Quote
yqusta Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 another locoster stick me down for a pro (same as above - discount dependant) mads Quote
ludo Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 just back from a trackday and a little bit knackered so I'll update the list tomorrow but to give my view on the trickshifter/flatshifter discussion, and based on what I read, they are identical but the flatshifter unit tend to be better set-up from the "factory" making the install easier. I wasn't at work today but I did ask graham the discount he could give for 10 and 20 units so I'll put his answer up on monday. As you say, anybody with a business today won't look down at an order of around £7,5k value! Quote
paublo Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 can we make sure that all of the required rod ends etc are included in the deal. Just heard they don't come as standard. Cheers Paul. Quote
ludo Posted November 1, 2008 Author Posted November 1, 2008 ok, will ask But I would think that it might not come as standard because we don't all have the same linkage Quote
