My baptism of fire into the world of sprinting!

Firstly a quick hi to all as im new to the site.

This year i was asked if id like to compete in a couple of sprints, there was of course only one possible answer to that, which was a big YES!

A few of you on here will probably know the car and owner, it was Peter Hayters 2.0L Vauxhall powered Westfield.

The first event was a double header at Lydden which was great, giving me more time to learn the circuit than usual. By the end of the weekend we had the car dialled in perfectly and the times were very pleasing.

Peter gave me some very valuable advice on driving the circuit pointing out to me the best lines.

The next event was at Eelmore, a very different venue indeed, and somewhere that i had never been, even to spectate.

Again Peter gave me his valuable advice and experience and by walking the circuit gave me as many tips as he could.

It was a wet, miserable day with quite a few people ending up in the scenery and the fact that alot of the rally cars seemed to be cutting the corners bringing alot of mud into the circuit, driving quickly in a 290bhp westfield was, shall we say tricky!

But all in all i had a great day, feeling very pleased to bring the car home after my last run in one piece, if a tad muddy

On my last run i managed to improve on my time, gaining my first FTD! I must say beating a 6R4 with its 4wd in the wet conditions was extremely satisfying  :D

Id just like to say a massive thanks to Peter for giving me the opportunity, and for trusting me with double driving his westie, it really was much appreciated and without the help and advice given by Peter i wouldnt have been able to drive as quickly.

Pleased to see you enjoyed it Craig and I hope we will see you competing in the WSCC Speed Series next year. I know you would get a big welcome from the guys in H, who would love some more competition :D:D:D

Terry is actually being quite modest. He and Del are both at the top of the modified production / sports libre drivers in the UK.

As are a lot of the other class leaders in the WSCC Speed Series :D:D
