for future reference for myself, im assuming this 893 will have more oomph than my vulcan 2.1 pinto?? reason i ask is i change my mind each day with thoughts of going for a bike engine.

i know you say the new 1000rr will be better than the 893 but is this 893 better than my pinto??

i realy must get a ride out in a BEC...anyone on teesside with one?

I wouldnt want to get into the CEC-BEC debate as its been done to death.

My pinion only but yes the 893 will probably feel quicker than the Pinto. i would say it what you want to use the car for. If its plenty of track days etc I would say BEC. If its mainly a road car, stick to a CEC.

Get yerself a ride in one though a make a decision then.

Ive got a nice part built Busa kit for sale if you fancy one!!

Hi Mark, I've been thinking of upgrading my 919 to a 1000rr....out of interest what model year engine did you got for?

Did the standard bottom engine cradle fit the 1000rr then?

Cheers, Walshy.

Walshy, first of all this isnt a straight forward conversion.

Its a very tall engine and requires a billet sump and there are issues around the prop adapter/water pump area. Nothing that cant be resolved but as ever at a cost.

The lower engine mounts are the same width as the 893 blade but leave the engine too far forward in the engine bay so the Westfield lower cradle stillneeds to be modified.

I will be posting details of the conversion once complete, together with parts required etc.

Mark

Thanks Mark, thats helpfull.

I look forward to seeing the pics/spec etc when you've finished....good luck with the conversion, i hope it goes to plan.  Regards, Matt
