Yes to all 3 questions
vt-marty Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 good answer think i'll give it a miss then... shame as i want one but want to retain the possible use of the hood... if i went RAC i may aswell ditch the whole roof system, windscren and wiper/heater stuff... weight loss and more racey but maybe not for me..

HTH Mark.

HTH Mark. cheers Mark note that my car is a 92 and the hood frame is simply 2x bent tubes that lay aroud boot box when not in use. its not a fancy hood frame like the modern westy hoods. good info though cheers marty
Mark B Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Ah Right, I'd still try it though, if you fit the hood on without the frame hoops, if you have a 3" gap between your existing rollbar & hood then an rac should be ok. Otherwise some folks have had an extra piece of vinyl sewn in to extend the hood to fit onto the tub..... Like yourself I wouldn't be without a hood, not unless I move to the south of france anyway! Cheers, Mark.
kermit Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 If the sale falls through, I will take it if it fits a 2002 SEIW I understand the mod required (I think)
vt-marty Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 WELL LADS, THANKS FOR the info. seems like ive done some of the donkey work here in letting people know it fits/can be made to fit... and i havent bought it. :-) not to worry. i suppose i should check this 3" dimension and see if it would fit then i can get one if required.
